About Us

The Research Design Service (RDS) offers an accessible, confidential service to new and experienced research teams, providing tailored support and guidance from initial idea through to final application. Applications must be to open and peer-reviewed funding schemes. For an example of your RDS journey take a look at our leaflet.

Our advisers are active researchers with specialist methodological expertise and considerable experience of supporting competitive funding applications.

For more information on how we will work with you, see our Working with the RDS, Confidentiality agreement, and Privacy statement documents.

The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) supports ten regional RDS across England (links below). RDS East Midlands supports researchers across Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland, who wish to submit funding applications for applied health and social care research.
