The Research Design Service (RDS) is a key component of the strategy to make the NHS research intensive and is funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).
The RDS provides free design and methodological support to health researchers who are developing research funding applications. The RDS supports research teams to develop and submit high-quality applied health and social care grant applications to NIHR and other open, national, peer-reviewed funding programmes. Priority is given to those applying to NIHR and nationally competitive funding streams, but where capacity allows other design and funding enquiries will be supported.
The services provided by the RDS EM are available to all NHS researchers and others working in partnership with the NHS primarily within Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland, who are considering an application to a suitable funding body.
