Raffaella Roncone (Senior Programme Manager, Innovations Directorate, NIHR)
Raffaella Roncone is Senior Programme Manager at NIHR working in the Innovations Directorate. Raffaella’s role involves the evaluation and management of £20m innovative technology project portfolio, including monitoring of scientific and clinical progress, commercial and financial aspects.
Raffaella’s education is a blend of science and business. She graduated as a Chemist. During her PhD and postdoctoral experience (in Italy and in UK) she built a strong interdisciplinary scientific knowledge which spans from Chemistry, Biochemistry and Proteomics, managed multiple research projects at the interface between university and industry and contributed to the creation of a spin off. She then left the academia to join a multinational energy-service company in which she gained experience in managing contracts with private and public clients. During that time she pursued an Executive MBA master at Imperial College Business School.
