Turning Research Ideas into Proposals (TRIP) - two day workshop

  Monday, 29 Feb 2016 | Events/Workshops

  • Are you planning your first funding application for applied health or social care research as lead applicant?
  • Or maybe you're about to be a co-applicant for the first time?
  • Have you applied for funding once or twice before but think you'd benefit from knowing more about the application process and how to prepare a persuasive funding proposal?

This two day free workshop covers all key elements required to write a successful application, including what makes a proposal fundable, framing research questions and objectives, the NIHR standard application form, using an appropriate study design, stakeholder involvement and building suitable research teams.

Special focus will be given to:

  • a detailed discussion and critique of an example application
  • presentations from recent applicants
  • 3-5 minute pitches about your research proposal

Delegates will also have dedicated time to discuss their own proposals with other attendees and the RDS team!

Date: 29 February - 1 March 2016
Venue: Stamford Court, Manor Road, Oadby
Booking deadline:
8 February 2016 - booking is now closed for this event
Draft programme for the event (please note that this is subject to change)
